Biography of Julio Jaramillo

Nicknamed " the nightingale of America ", born in Guayaquil on October 1, 1935 in the Clinic Panchana. son of Juan Pantaleón Jaramillo Erazo, native to Machachi and of Apolonia Laurido Caceres, guayaquileña of Jamaican ancestry.

His father emigrated to Guayas's province in search of better labor opportunities and was there where it(he,she) knew to Apolonia.On April 2, 1941, when In July it was counting with five years of age, it lost hisfather due to an accident at work when this one was making a cross for the tomb of his(her,your) daughter who had died to short age. Hismother, who she remained a widow, baby together with his(her,your) major brother, Jose (born in 1933) and popularly known like Pepe.Both brothers 

were registered in the school Philanthropic Company(Society) of the Guayas, but Julio Jaramillo left hisstudies in the third degree for problems of discipline.

Finished the primary one, used in a shoe store of footwear for woman, and then as varnisher of furniture.At the age of seventeen already it(he) was known by hisbeautiful and hot voice, and was taking part in programs of Radio Condor. In 1950 it joined with two friends and they

 started crossing each other the peoples(villages) of Emeralds and Manabí singing in trio. In some opportunity one saw obliged to return to his  cobbler's trade(office) to survive. In spite of the reproaches, punishments, tears and requests of hismother, it was not 

capable of leaving hisBohemian life and parrandera.

With the recording of his first disc, Poor person my dear mother (1954), in duo with dona Fresia Saavedra, hisname began to be known. To this one they followed(continued) the corridor It(He,She) handcuffs (1955), in duo with Carlos Rubira Infante. The jump to the 

reputation gave to itself in 1955 with his waltz Fatality, which was spread by all the radioes of the Ecuador and by the principal issuers of other countries. The recording of this song marked the beginning of hisformal career(race) and of his recognition. His international consecration came with the bolero Our oath (1957), moment in which itrealized several tours along Latin America: itbegan a peregrinaje for Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. On having returned to his(her,your) country, the military service was stopped and led to fulfilling.

Turned to the civil life in 1960, itcontinued with hiscareer(race), reaching actions(performances) of up to four consecutive months in the cinema Guayas of Guayaquil, with complete abundance.It(he,she) informed in the movie Romance in Ecuador and in another rolling in Argentina. In 1965 it(he,she) established itself in Venezuela, from where itrealized triumphal tours along Mexico, Puerto Rico and the whole Central America. Itrecorded in duo with Purple Daniel Santos, Alci Acosta and Olympus.

His last international tour took place for The United States and Canada

The scandals of histurbulent life also were often a news. Several times itwas caught and almost always for women's problems or for breach with the Minors' Court. Beside having married five times, ithad children with other women, who managed to add a total of twenty-

eight. Henever denied his humble origins, it(he) was proving to be generous, a spendthrift of the money with hisfriends, and prototype of the sea machismo.
